A contemporary artist, Anne uses mixed media to achieve an impressionistic response to her subjects. Her submitted work focuses on her summer garden.
Anne’s paintings are an intuitive, impressionistic response ranging between abstraction and reality. Recent work has been inspired by a local river which she’s painted through seasonal changes, and she’s been curious about surfaces, reflections, depths, movement and stillness.Anne is a painter who lives and works in Hertfordshire. She has been painting and drawing for over 20 years.
Anne’s work is diverse in subject and application. Having concentrated on the human form for many years, she sees a natural progression in exploring other landscapes, both natural and placed, their shapes and forms, interconnecting lines, depth and space, their colour and light.
Anne applies her mark making in an intuitive and expressive way, responding to the subject as well as to the unfolding image being created. Her approach can be realistic or semi abstraction and sometimes purer abstraction. She uses a mixture of medium including paint, charcoal, pastel, ink and collage to develop her work.
