Heather Fitz loves painting animals in a wide variety of media including watercolour, pastel, coloured pencils, inks and wax crayons. Her love of painting goes back to childhood and her favourite subjects are animals, especially hares in watercolour. She loves their quirky awkwardness, their large eyes and their ears, so flexible and pronounced.
Heather visits zoos and animal parks, sometimes scrabbling around on the ground trying to capture a ‘face on’ shot. Heather’s friend, wildlife photographer Richard Ansell, also sits for hours in the Suffolk countryside to provide Heather with just the ‘right shot’.
Heather exhibits in local exhibitions around Hertfordshire and she is very proud to be the winner of the Hertford Graphics award 2 years running.
